Hello,

I'm a new user to PM+ and I'm wondering about deleting and/or adding images to a folder that has an existing catalogue.

If you remove/delete an image, the dot on the catalogue view of the image turns yellow which shows it's offline. Makes sense. If you replace the image, the dot turns green showing it's online and available. Also makes sense.
This tells me the program is automatically monitoring the folder file status and changes the dot to reflect if it's available (shown as online or offline).
If you add images to the same folder, then nothing happens and you have to "Scan to Catalog..." to populate the catalogue with the new images.

Is this the correct procedure or is there a better way to update/synchronize the catalogue with the folder? Is it possible to have this performed automatically?

I'm running a MacBook Pro with macOS Mojave 10.14.5 and PM+ V6.0 Build 5820.

Thank you for your time.

Regards,

Garry

The folders are not monitored.  The files are monitored, but only when a contact sheet contains them (browsing a folder, searching, filtering, etc.)

If you add images to the same folder, then nothing happens and you have to "Scan to Catalog..." to populate the catalogue with the new images.

Is this the correct procedure or is there a better way to update/synchronize the catalogue with the folder?

Catalog Sync in Full mode will find new images and note images that appear to no longer exist.

See: https://docs.camerabits.com/support/solutions/articles/48001161171-catalog-sync

Is it possible to have this performed automatically?

No, not at this time.

Hi Kirk,

I realize that not all folders would be monitored. I would expect the program to monitor just the folder that contains the images for the current contact sheet or in other words, the source folder.

I wasn't quite sure about "Catalog Sync" but I'll certainly check it out. I just knew there was a better way.

Thank you for the link and the great support.
