PM star rating not syncing to lightroom

I have read many posts here about this topic and nothing is helping me. I have the original settings in PM and have lightroom checked to "automatically write changes into XMP" then tried "read metadata from file" still lightroom is not showing the ratings. When I rate in lightroom it shows in PM. Any idea what this could be?

Are you using XMP sidecar files with your RAW images in Photo Mechanic?  Adobe software works best with XMP sidecar files.  In the IPTC/XMP page of the Preferences dialog in PM, you can use the snapshot button (has a little lightning bolt on it) to pick the Adobe settings.  That will force PM to use/update XMP sidecar files for RAW files you edit.

So after a deeper look, after all I think my synology NAS is probably case sensitive. I can see both xmp and XMP files.

Ok, you can set PM to use uppercase or lowercase extensions, or to use the case of the source file (the RAW file).

It should be in the Files page of the Preferences dialog.
