PM 6+ Catalogs Moving folders
« on: November 29, 2021, 09:57:07 AM »
Hi All
If you ingest your photos in using PM 6+ into your catalogue on your working drive can you drag and drop them into your archive drive after editing, please? Or how is the best way of moving folders around in PM 6+, please?

If you're always going to move images/folders from 'working' to 'archive', I'd suggest skipping adding the images to your catalog during Ingest.  Add them after you move them to their final destination.  That way you can use any method you like for moving the images and no housekeeping will need to be done in your catalog.

Hi Kirk

That's good advice for adding new work but I frequently need to reorganise images and move/rename folders that have been in a catalog for some time. What would the best workflow be for that case?

Thanks
David

Use the Favorites/Navigator to move/rename folders.  It should notify the Catalog system of the changes.
