PM+ Sync repeatedly finds 18 files that don't exist ?
« on: December 02, 2021, 01:08:23 PM »
When I perform a sync in PM+ it repeatedly finds 18 "New" files which it then cannot display - am I doing something wrong here or simply not understanding ?

I'd like to see your Photo Mechanic Plus log.  In Photo Mechanic Plus go to the Help menu and choose "Reveal Support Data..." and moments later a Finder window will come forward with the zipped log file selected.  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your zipped PM log file.

Thanks,

-Kirk

Thanks for the log file.

It looks like the images in question cannot be parsed for their metadata.  So the scan is adding them to the catalog but they fail to truly be added because of the errors.

I suggest checking the integrity of those files with something like Photoshop.

Confirmed - Thx Kirk, Bit Rot is scary - I used to have a program that would checksum and then validate my archives but it's no longer being developed - does anyone have any suggestions ?
