Image Info ICC Profile
« on: February 11, 2022, 01:55:41 AM »
Hello,

which ICC profile is shown in the Image Info display (variable icc)?

For example:
I have raw files (Nikon NEF) shoot in Adobe RGB.
If the image file is offline, the ICC shows sRGB (exact sRGB IEC61966-2.1, not the profile that was selected in the preferences Color Management).
When the image became online, the ICC shows the correct profile of the raw file: Adobe RGB.
I am a little confused about this change.

Greetings
Thomas

When an image is offline, you're seeing a proxy preview.  They're generated in from the original image while the catalog is being built and end up using sRGB as the profile.  At least that's my recollection.  I'd have to investigate the code to know for sure.

Thanks for the answer, Kirk.

I understand, but does that make sense? Do I really want to know the ICC profile of the preview file?
Isn't it more important to know offline, which color space my images have?

Agreed, you should be seeing what the original image had.  It's likely a bug that will need to be fixed.

A RAW file does not have a colorimetric profile...
This one is applied to the development.
The choice proposed in the cameras concern only the JPEG.

Best regards
