Metadata not updated if RAW file is a DNG from XMP
« on: June 02, 2022, 07:59:44 AM »
The Workflow I have is to work in PM+ as DAM then edit the RAW in CaptureOne. Here I set sometimes the Rating or other metadata as well.
This is then reflected back to PM+ via the XMP files. This works perfect with the my Canon RAW(CR2, CR3) files.
Now I get a new camera (Leica M11) which produce DNG files. The Problem here is PM+ write direct to the DNG, CaptureOne writes changes to the XMP, not the DNG. So in PM+ I don't get these changes. It looks like the XMP file is ignored in case of an DNG file.

Is there some way to handle DNGs like other RAW files so I can use this workflow.

I think there should be a way to use XMP sidecars files with DNG in PM not only it's embedded.
