Folder Not Showing.

Photo Mechanic Version 6.0, build 6645 (f4860a9)

macOS 13.0.1 (22A400) - Ventura

SD memory card - all folders display in 'finder' but not all showing in PM.

Suggestions to resolve please.

Did that folder exist before you launched Photo Mechanic? Or did you create it in Finder after opening Photo Mechanic? If you right-click the drive in the Navigator, and then click 'Refresh', does that folder appear in the Navigator?

Yes folder existed.

Refresh fails.

I've deleted the folder on the SD card and created again and Navigator still fails.

I suppose it couldn't hurt to ensure that Photo Mechanic is allowed full disk access. I have never seen this preference arbitrarily prevent Photo Mechanic from seeing certain folders before, but it has resolved a number of issues around accessing external drives.

1. Quit Photo Mechanic.
2. Open up the macOS System Preferences and go to "Security and Privacy".
3. Under the Privacy tab, select 'Full Disk access' on the left hand side.
4. Enter your administrator password to be able to make changes.
5. Find Photo Mechanic in the list on the right and check the box next to it (if Photo Mechanic is not in the list, select the + sign under the window and add it from the Applications folder).
6. Close the System Preferences window.


If that does not resolve the issue, I'd be curious to know what kind of file system the drive is using.

Thanks for the reply - appreciated.

Full Disk access was already granted.

One card is an SD and the other is CFexpress - both SanDisk.

Canon camera formatted and both working fine in the cameras and file structure is OK in Finder.

I use subfolders with different names for identity reasons as I can have both cards in card readers and download from both simultaneously.

I should have said this problem only manifested itself after the latest upgrade of PM. I'm not saying this caused it but it may be relevant.

We are wanting to know the file system that the disks are using. Open up Terminal on your Mac and enter the following:

diskutil info /Volumes/DISK_NAME

Replace DISK_NAME with the name of the drive ("EOS_DIGITAL" in the screenshot above) and then press Return. Paste the output into your reply.
