Adding large jpeg previews to catalog.
« on: December 28, 2022, 08:06:00 AM »
If I create a large JPEG version of a raw files and save it with the same name as the original raw file plus .jpg as the extension then Photo Mechanic will use the new file in its previews rather than the smaller jpeg contained within the raw file.  For this to happen the jpeg file has to be imported into the catalog.

I wonder if there is a quick method of adding the new file to the catalog.  At the moment I add a number of the large jpeg files to the folders and then set up a catalog sync.  This method works but is a little clumsy to set up as I have to either sync the whole catalog of specify the target folder/s and both methods take time.  A more useful option for me would be able to sync the selected folder or the folder of the selected image.  Also I have tried the "Rescan" option but that does not import the new jpegs and I am unclear what it is used for.

Have I missed a simple option?
