New Dock icon on macOS

We need an updated, improved application/Dock icon on macOS. Matching Apple's design guidelines, and the same size as the other icons.
I've mentioned this almost since the beginning of Big Sur or whatever. We don't need any circle-shaped icons.

It's utterly ridiculous that this hasn't been changed yet.

Luckily it's possibly to edit the icons yourself.

What a PITY though to do this after every update.

What icon would you want Photo Mechanic to have?  PM7 is coming along, no new icon design yet.  Would you like to design one and see what the rest of the users on this forum think of it?

If a lot of people like it, perhaps we would adopt it for PM7.

probably you could do the new icons more fancy if you want. I just took the old ones and did a quick and dirty square version of it.

So it's not the content, just the shape.  Our application supports macOS versions much older than the one you're running.  If we were to put in the icon that appeals to the latest design, it would look out of place on the older macOS versions.  Then we'd have those folks complaining.

Unfortunately, there is no way to have several icons, one for each macOS revision (that I know of).  That said, in the future, we will not be supporting older macOS editions as much as we do now and this won't be a problem.
