Use catalog info to ad as keywords
« on: April 13, 2023, 10:55:00 PM »
I have 4 catalogs with multiple sub-catalogs in PM6+.
I would like to copy the catalog info as a keyword string to my photos. Let me give you an example:

I have pictures stored in the following catalog:
Where - Antarctica - Casey - Around station - Mess - Kitchen

Is it possible to set up an automated process that would copy this string into the keywords box?

I have about 36,000 pictures sorted this way and I'm anxious that if the database would crash I will lose all that information.
Yes, I have multiple back-ups but it would be great if the catalog info is hardcoded into the photo metadata.
Thanks for your help in advance!

Luke

Luke,

No, the catalog does not write anything to your files.  Only the Metadata dialogs write IPTC data to your files (or XMP sidecar files).

There is no way to do what you're wanting to be able to do.

OK, thanks Kirk!
That answers my question.
Cheers,
