Renaming ignoring Event variable

I am a new user; I set up a naming string that I will use for all my ingests. It worked for a while, but now it is not; the process ignores the Event variable I inserted in the string. I wonder if you have any idea of what I am missing.

MCampos - {iptcyear4}-{iptcmonth0}-{iptcday0} - {event} - {seqn}

In the Metadata (IPTC) Template, I activated the Event field and have text in it, as shown in the attached jpeg. The process renames the files but ends up looking like this:

MCampos - 2023-05-09 -  - 001

I will greatly appreciate your feedback.

The screenshot is of the Metadata Template, but has that Template been applied to the image you are attempting to rename? If you have only filled out the template but not applied it to the image, then the image's Event field is not populated with data for the variable to pull from.
