Hey folks!

Longtime user of PM. I'm a photojournalist and use PM for work...absolutely invaluable.

Anyway, when I tag a photo in camera with a star, that rating only shows up in Photo Mechanic when I shoot JPG. When I shoot DNG, none of my in-camera tagging shows up in PM.

How do I fix this? I shoot DNG almost exclusively for projects that I would use this camera for.

If there's any other information you need, I'd be happy to provide photos/whatever is useful.

Thanks!!

Here's a DNG from the camera, if that's at all useful.

The XMP rating on this file is 0. I'm not seeing anything in the file that indicates that it is storing the rating, I also looked at the file in Exiftool which also says the rating is 0. Can you post the JPEG that was rated in camera?

Replies dont' seem to be working when attaching DNGs anymore. Maybe they're too big? Trying to attach a single DNG this time. This was tagged in camera with a star rating. Ah good this went through. I attached a medium-DNG, but star ratings on DNGs of any size do not show up.

Can you post a file that is straight off the camera card and doesn't have metadata added by Photo Mechanic or Adobe Camera Raw? The more recent file has a Rating of 1, but it has got 2 XMP sections, and one of them appears to be added by Photo Mechanic. An original file will help us investigate.
