raw + jpeg 'Combined Images' failing for one or two images

I have a saved search which displays Combined Images in my contact sheet so to get to see the JPEG version of my raw files. It works well. Except for at least one pair which refuse to combine.

They show as a Combined Image RAF+jpeg in the contact sheet view of the folder they are stored in. But not in the saved search, I see separate raw and jpeg versions.

I have confirmed the settings for the saved search, deleted and recreated the JPEG version. I still can't make these images combine.

Any tips welcome!

Do the search and then select the one of the images and then the other. When you select each image, look at the path shown at the bottom of the Photo Mechanic window. Is it the same path other than the file extension?

Yes, it is. Both in the same folder. Confirmed by 'Reveal in Finder'.

They did not appear to have.

I seem to have solved this by;

Copied filename from combined raw+jpg pair in contact sheet
Pasted to BBEdit and added a "-A" suffix
Pasted 'new' filename back into PM+
Image now shows correctly as pair in both folder contact sheet and save search.

I've now removed the suffix and its still good.

Who knows but thanks for the tip Kirk I seem to have cleaned up something, somewhere.
