find files with the same creation date
« on: March 02, 2024, 03:24:44 AM »
Hello,
I'm trying to find out if there's a way to find files with exactly the same creation date using the organizer.
In fact, I'm looking for duplicates.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks

Organizer / Browse / Capture Time / select date

Thanks Bob, but that's not what I'm looking for.
I'm looking for duplicates.
For example, in organizer I tried "if capturetime=capturetime" but it doesn't work.

If there are too many to do manually with a set sorted by capture time then an app like Photosweeper (there are others) is probably your best bet.

Are you typing this in the search field exactly as you've shown it here? Because if so, it's not going to work for a few reasons.

First, the "if" is essentially implied in Photo Mechanic Plus Search. It's only going to give you results when the search conditions are true, so the "if" is unnecessary and its probably searching for that word specifically in addition to your other search terms.

Second, unless the capture time value of your image is actually "capturetime", that search is going to come up false.

Have you seen the "Search Examples" window, accessible from the Catalog menu? It has a bunch of examples of how to search by capture time, which I think should give you enough information to find whatever you are looking for. The only thing that I think isn't super clear from that window is the fact that you need to use 24-hour time for the hour value
