Directories not listing in FTP6?
« on: March 06, 2024, 12:53:22 AM »
Hi,

I'm connecting to an FTP server which I know has 3 folders (and they're visible using Forklift), but when I make a connection using FTPv6 in PhotoMechanic, even with the "List Directories" checkbox enabled, it doesn't show any folders in the root...

Am I doing something wrong?

I was able to test Photo Mechanic's FTP v6 Uploader template on Mojave and Sonoma, using the recent builds 6890 and 7086. I am able to see the folders listed on the Server.  During my testing, I noticed the folders will not be listed if a folder name has been set in the Connections dialog Destination Folder on Server field.  Is this field empty in your Connection Settings dialog?

We would like to try to recreate this problem on our test machines. Are using a public or private server?  If you are using a private server, then would you be willing to try a special logging version of Photo Mechanic to help us determine the source of this problem?  Any new Photo Mechanic builds will no longer run on Mojave.  What OS are you running on the M1 Max?

Best regards,

--Bob

Hi Bob,

I’ll run a dedicated logging version by all means..
it’s a private server which automatically sends uploads out to clients worldwide so I can’t send or allow anyone else to have the login details I’m afraid..

The folder name is empty in the connection dialogue.

I’m currently running Sonoma.

Have you verified that you are on the latest build of Photo Mechanic?

Bob - I don't mean to rush you or appear impatient - I'm very happy to try a test build, but the job I'm working on at the moment will have the folders deleted by Saturday evening.. As soon as I've filed my pictures and the event is over, the folders will be gone and I can't give any date as to when I'll have the chance to test it again..  could be a couple of weeks, could be a few months..

It's not vital to me - it's more of a niggle..  I have been sent the name of the folders so I know where I'm putting them - but it would be handy to just be able to click the folder in the listing view rather than go back through my emails, copy the folder name from there and paste it into the connection setting each day..

Just letting you know I only have today and tomorrow to be able to test.

Best regards

J.
