Is there a setting in PM6 that when I click on it, PM6 starts.
Now I must place a photo folder on the PM6 icon via drag and drop.
Very occasionally PM6 also starts when I click on the icon.

PM6 runs on Sonoma 14.5

Tnx, Jaap

Where is it that you're clicking?  The PM icon in the Dock?  The PM icon in the Applications folder?

PM6 icon in Dock.
app is closed, the small dot under the app symbol is not present.

I have no idea why the Dock wouldn't launch PM.  Does the Dock ever fail to launch other apps in your Dock when you click on them to start them?

There is no setting in PM that would affect how the Dock launches it.

Problem solved.
Macbook updated from Sonoma 14.5 to 14.6.1
Photo Mechanic Version 6.0, build 7212 (90865b3)

Don't know which one of them has solved it. thanks for your thoughts
