Map and Reverse Geocoding Re-visited

I have upgraded my MAC to Catalina(end of the road for me) and I'm thinking there is a procedure that enables both the GPS map and Reverse Geocoding
Attached is screen capture images for my system.  I hope I can get this working again. And I hope the correct attachments got attached.

Do you have a PMDebug.txt file in your Photo Mechanic preferences directory?  If so, make sure that the REVERSE_GEOCODING_SERVER is removed.  You should restart PM after making the change.

Thanks, here is what is in my Library  Applications Support.  seems to be a lot missing, would it help to just reload PhotoMechanic from scratch?


Oops = found it right where you said to look, in Preferences not App Support. It appears to be nothing

PMDebug.txt is right there in your second attachment.  Open it up and remove the entire line containing REVERSE_GEOCODING_SERVER, save and close the file.  Restart PM.

That should do it.

There is no text the PMDebug file, it is empty. So if you would please provide the full contents I will go away and vanish for another few years

So you're saying that the PMDebug.txt file exists but has a size of zero bytes?  Try deleting it entirely.  If that doesn't solve the problem after you restart PM, I suggest contacting our support folks at:

I just want to clarify: The ability to view maps within Photo Mechanic is dependent on functionality that is baked into your operating system: WebKit. Google decides what versions of Webkit their map supports, so if the version baked into your operating system is not a version that they support, Photo Mechanic will not be able to load the map. Google ended support for the version of Webkit in Catalina earlier this year.

Reverse Geocoding, on the other hand, is not dependent on your operating system. If your image has GPS coordinates, Photo Mechanic should be able to Reverse Geocode them regardless of which OS you are on, so if you continue to experience the issue after deleting the PMDebug file, I will echo what Kirk said and ask you to call or email the support desk.

Hope, only the reverse geocoding works.  FWIW I use  Photolinker to our coordinates into image files
