Resetting a DNG image's DefaultCropSize
« on: September 28, 2024, 11:54:15 PM »
A number of my images are taken on a Ricoh GR3x.  The camera allows the user to change the field of view for example from the full 40mm to 50mm, (full frame fov).  When set in a crop mode the full sensor information is recorded in the DNG file but the camera sets the EXIF data field "DefaultCropSize" which PhotoMechanic reads and obeys.  I have no wish to have my images cropped by the camera but every so often I discover that I have taken a number of images with this mode enabled in error.

Is there any way of instructing PhotoMechanic to ignore or reset the Exif field "DefaultCropSize"?

I do have a clumsy work around using Exiftool but my work flow would be smoother if I were able to just view my images at full resolution in PhotoMechanic.

best wishes
Simon

Simon,

Can you share a file that has this "DefaultCropSize" set?  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your RAW file.

Thanks,
