update folder location problem
« on: Yesterday at 01:36:51 AM »
After a crash of my main HD (number (J) on a Window 11 system) I have to change to the backup HD (number (I)).
There were 4 main folder on the HD wich I relocate with "update folder location ..."
All folders were relocatet, they are online on the new HD (I) and the files are being read on the new HD (I).
A total of 19 catalogs were involved.
The problem is:
2 folders are displayed correctly in the folder path under the new number (I), the other 2 folders are still displayed with the wrong number und the wrong HD (J).
I have done a Catalog Sync, a Re-index Catalog and a Optimizee SQL, but nothing helps.
How can I solve this problem, which is quite confusing in the long run?

Windows 11 System, PM+ build 7212,

PS:
If I have to completely change an HD again, is it better to simply assign a new number to the new HD in Windows instead of relocate?

I suggest trying a "Reintegrate forgotten Catalog" operation.

It shouldn't be necessary.  The Catalog system tracks disks and paths via a file named '.pmshare' as high up in the directory structure that it can access/write.  Reintegration finds those files and updates its paths accordingly.

Hi Kirk,

thanks for your answer.
The "Reintegrate forgotten Catalog" operation worked

Maybe a reintegration must follow the relocate command, because i always had problems to manage a relocate for a large folder (200k photos spread over several catalogs).
