option to not strip ACL

Hoping it's possible to put in an option to NOT strip ACL permissions.

i notice in a change-log for PM5 b17671 the 'feature' was implemented to strip ACL...

We did this because ACLs for most users cause problems (improper setup) than those who set them up properly.  The number of users having problems where the cause was improper ACLs outweighed those that needed them to stay in place and would allow PM to perform the operations that the user was trying to accomplish.

I suppose we could add a checkbox in the Files page of the Preferences dialog to keep PM from removing them.

If we were to make this change, it would only happen in the newest PM products.  We can't make new builds of PM5 anymore.

Yea, perfect. We would love to have a button to enable ACL permissions for PM 6!

The feature would only be added to the current Photo Mechanic (2024.x) release.  PM6 has been in bug fix only support since March of this year.
