Based on other answers, Photo Mechanic dont want to implement automatisation into the programme (which is fine) but refers to other software (like apple Automator)
The problem here is that its rather good when there is a shortcut. Easy to understand. But when it has to follow the cursor it is a problem. Especially (for me) the ligthing pop up menu is tricky (or very slow).
So a setup where everthing is a shortcut (and of course making it adjustable) could help a lot.
