Another HEIC issue - iPhone 16, Google photos
« on: December 09, 2024, 01:45:46 AM »
Hi,

I've been using PM+ for a few years now and have never had any issues with HEIC images.  My standard workflow has been to download images from Google Photos (they upload automatically from my iPhone) and process through PM+.  That's been working fine even with my new iPhone 16 but I've had to move laptops.  I've installed PM+ v6.0 build 7212 on that new machine and while it displays older heic files fine, it can't display any new ones.  Windows 11.  The files display fine in Photos.  Sample image attached.  This image displays fine on my other Windows 11 pc running PM+

Any suggestions please.

The next build of PM6 Plus (and PM6) will address this problem.

Thank you, I look forward to it being available.  Why would I be seeing different results on two machines that I would expect to behave the same?

I'm not sure what about your two systems that would produce different results with the same files.  I expect that build 7212 should not render HEIC images produced on iOS devices running iOS 18 or later.
