I use desktop PCs in two different locations. I have PM Plus on both. I ingest all my photos to an external hard drive that I move between locations. So far so good.

One of my desktops crashed. I had no way to deactivate PM Plus from it. I wanted to use my laptop since my PC crashed but when I tried to activate PM Plus on it, I was informed I could only have it activated on two computers--but of course one of my two activations was on a crashed desktop PC and I couldn't deactivate it.

(Aside: my helpful son has restored that PC for me but I'm currently at my second location and don't have access to the restored PC at the moment).

So, two questions:
1. For the future, how does one deactivate PM Plus from a dead PC?
2. Why am I limited to two activations when I'm using only one at a time? It's really inconvenient not to be able to use PM Plus from my laptop if I'm elsewhere than where my two desktop PCs are. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Ed

One of the things that we added when we moved to the new licensing system that your subscription works under was the ability to remove an activated computer through the web portal as described in the link above, so you are essentially not so you can do exactly what you want to do: deactivate a computer that you are not able to physically access so that you can activate it elsewhere. For the system to be able to know what computers currently have the software open and running at any given time, the software would essentially not be able to work without an active internet connection, which would likely be far more inconvenient for far more people.
