Drop down menus etc

As a follow up to local template for FTP and how it is saved to snapshots (Thanks) is it possible to make an option where the snapshot drop down menu is always visible ( maybe a version of how the variable window works) and, probably more complicated, an indication (check mark?) of what is currently active.

And if possible, as I wrote earlier, if it could be connected to a data field under preview, Metadata (IPTC) etc, it would be even more fantastic. To know which IPTC template is active but especially FTP is very helpful. So in a perfect world the active snapshot is visible but if that is not possible maybe the active FTP.

I'm not understanding your request as written, please provide a mockup image that illustrates what you're wanting.
