Hi, here's a good article on how to use the Metadata IPTC Template:
https://camerabits.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/48000207623-using-the-metadata-iptc-templateIf you want to apply changes to specific IPTC fields for specific images, here is one way to do it:
1) Open 'Image' | Metadata (IPTC) Template
2) Press the 'Clear' button, then review all checkboxes to ensure they are unchecked.
3) Enter the desired text or variables into the IPTC fields you wish to apply to your group of images. For example, let's say you want to work on the "Keywords" field:
4) Click the left-hand checkbox beside the "Keywords" field to
replace the existing contents of that field when you apply the changes to your set of images.
5) Click both checkboxes beside the "Keywords" field to
append what you typed in Step 3 to the existing contents of the "Keywords" field.
6) Open a Contact Sheet on your image set and select the subset you wish to apply keywords to. You can use the Star Ratings and/or Color Codes to isolate the group of images you wish to apply the metadata changes to.
7) Select 'Image' | 'Apply Metadata (IPTC) Template to Photos'
Open image metadata to confirm results are as desired.
** The key is making sure you have
only the checkboxes selected for fields you wish to change, so it's a good idea to test your change on one image to ensure it works before applying a undesired change to a large set of photos. **
