ingest problems
« on: April 04, 2025, 01:04:09 AM »
All of a sudden, I can't import images "Ingest." I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I've never encountered this before. Has anyone else experienced the same issue? THE FILES ARE .NEF FROM A NIKON CAMERA. Photo Mechanic Plus Version 2025.1, build 8239

I'd like to see your Photo Mechanic log.  In Photo Mechanic go to the Help menu and choose "Reveal Support Data..." and moments later a Finder window will come forward with the zipped log file selected.  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your zipped PM log file.

Thanks,

-Kirk

Thanks, Roger.

It looks like your Nikon camera card has spaces at the end of its name?  "NIKON Z 9  " (they're either spaces or some other character that prints as a space).

Try renaming your card in the Finder (to remove the trailing white space) and try the Ingest again.

I renamed the Card to NIKONZ9  still getting error if I double klick the red dot : IngestCopyThread::copyAllFiles(): caught exception while copying a file.
If the name is causing problems, then it's the Nikon camera that names the card. So it seems a bit far-fetched. I had a colleague with a Mac computer download the images and it worked without any issues. So either I'm the cause of the problem or something's gone wrong with Photo Mechanic.

What do your Ingest settings look like?  Please post a screen shot.  And please post an updated log.

Sending screenshots and a new log file, hoping these are the images you need.

Thanks, Roger.

If you change your "Folder name" to something simple, like a single word, say: test_ingest

and try your ingest again, does it work?

Tried to add just test_ingest, unfortunately, no difference.

Roger,

Tried to add just test_ingest, unfortunately, no difference.

Would you mind restarting your computer and see if the problem persists?

Thanks,

-Kirk
