Unable to tag (color) or rate certain images in a gallery

Hello,

I curate images for photographers for publication, which means I frequently download images from PicTime,pixieset, and instaproofs and then import them into PhotoMechanic 6. My process is to open a contact sheet and then simply hit 1 or 2 to keep or toss. I am finding more and more that I lack the ability to tag an image with a color or even rate it by stars. The image doesn't appear to be locked and other images in the gallery have no issue. Its just single images. When I hit 1 to color tag, nothing happens and it will not apply when I right click and try to add the color. What is a workaround so I don't leave great images on the chopping block just because I cannot add a tag to keep? Any idea what's going on? It doesn't matter if a gallery has 2000 images or 200. It doesn't happen on every gallery, it also doesn't happen with the same photographer. One gallery Ill be fine and the next I have issues with.

Share one of your images so that we can investigate.  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your file.
