Hello Everyone,

We are pleased to announce an update to the Photo Mechanic All-in-One application for macOS (Universal-Binary) and Windows.  This new build addresses a number of issues present in the 8239 (macOS) and 7955 (Windows) builds.

On macOS, this build of Photo Mechanic requires macOS Ventura or higher.  If you are using a Mac with macOS Monterey or older, you will need to upgrade to macOS Ventura or higher to use Photo Mechanic.  This version of Photo Mechanic is written for both Intel-based and Apple Silicon-based Mac computers.

On Windows, this build of Photo Mechanic requires Windows 10 or higher.  If you are using a Windows PC with Windows 8.1 or older, you will need to upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11.

This release is for current Monthly and Annual subscribers to Photo Mechanic or Photo Mechanic Plus, as well as those who purchased a perpetual license for either of those within the last twelve months.

Version 2025.6 Build 8612 (June 5, 2025)

Both:
• Added: Uploader for new Zenfolio API.
• Added: {filesizebytes} / {sizb} shows file size in exact bytes.
• Added: Preference to enable/disable Recent items in metadata dialog popup menus.
• Added: Open 'XFVC' folder when automatically opening Contact Sheets from camera disks via drag and drop.
• Added: Support for Sony alpha 1 Mark 2 maker notes.
• Fixed: ICU Normalizer Inconsistencies.  This could cause the wrong Unicode normalizer to be utilized.  This affected the Find / Find and Replace dialogs and caused them to be able to perform case-insensitive searches.
• Fixed: Do not create a "Photo Mechanic Catalogs" folder if other catalogs exist.
• Fixed: Certain Affinity Photo files fail to render a preview.
• Fixed: PM Basic Gallery exporter contextual menu download original (large) image.
• Fixed: Reduce frequency that user is notified of a failure to check licensing server.
• Fixed: Remove image file type choice from "Text Exporter" exporter template.
• Fixed: Detect corrupt preferences databases and attempt to recover.  A backup is made on successful startup, and it will be restored if on next startup the preferences database is unsound.  PM will also detect a corrupted database while PM is in use and will start a new one with the current settings in memory.

macOS:
• Added: Customizable keyboard shortcuts.  See the Keyboard Shortcuts page in the Settings (formerly: Preferences) dialog.
• Added: New Metal-based Slide Show with better performance and stability.
• Fixed: Navigator crash when renaming a folder outside of PM.
• Fixed: Check for updates on Universal Binary would inform you that you were up-to-date even when a newer build is available.
• Fixed: Color matching is inconsistent.
• Fixed: Pressing 'D' in the Preview window removes the item from the selection but does not advance to the next image.
• Fixed: Very high-resolution JPEG images fail to render in Preview when zoomed.
• Fixed: Change preference page title from Preferences to Settings.
• Fixed: Unable to drag Contact Sheet tab to another window.

Windows:
• Added: Sequence button to "Send Photos via Email" dialog.
• Fixed: Video thumbnails fail to render when the file path contains non-ASCII characters.
• Fixed: Crash when importing large GPS logs.

On Windows, you may see a window like the following appear when you try to install:

This is due to our recently updated code signing certificate.  As long as you see Camera Bits, Inc. as the publisher, you can trust the installer and choose "Run anyway".  In time, as our certificate gains trust by Microsoft Defender, these warnings will cease to occur.
