Is there anyway to set Tag to a separate key than Untag in the Preview workflow?

So that it is not possible to accidentally tag something when you meant to untag it, or vice versa?

In the midst of culling millions of photos, it always takes an extra confirmation step of looking down in the corner somewhere after pressing the dual-purpose "tag/untag" key to make sure I haven't done the opposite of what I want to, since a photo may be in either state to begin with. And if it's the opposite of what I wanted when I look at the corner, then I have to go back a photo and do it again.

It would save all this effort and basically double my speed of tagging photos (which is less common than rating photos numerically, but still very used) and make the possibility of an error go down from 1% or so to basically 0%.

But there is no way in the Keyboard Shortcuts to assign a separate key to Tag than the key for Untag. The only option is "Toggle tag."

So basically, is it possible at all? Or does it need an underlying bit of programming to be added to do this?

I would love the ability to do this, and it would probably increase my working speed and productivity by 10% at least, and decrease the number of errors in tagging I make quite a lot as well.

Thank you!

In the Preview window, you can use Command-minus(-) to clear a tag, and Command-plus (+) to set a tag on the current image. In the keyboard customization preferences, you can go to the "Menus" shortcuts and look for Image -> Tag Photos and Image -> Untag Photos and customize the shortcuts for this, though they will require a modifier key like Command since they are in a menu.

In the future we can add a single-key way to perform these functions so the Command key will not be necessary.
