HotCodes: How to handle multiple persons shown in an image?

Hi all.
Is it possible to handle multiple persons in an image with HC?
Referring back to this post:
https://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=15813.msg77199#msg77199
I want to enter multiple BIBs with a fixed length each or (more preferred) a custom delimiter like ";"
Then I want to build the caption like Person1, person2, person3, ... during blablabla...
Above linked post could achieve this; what about HCs?
Side question: With the classic CR I could easily more people by just entering "+{1234}#2+". Is this possible with HC (without altering the reference IPTC-Field), too?
Thanks
Sven

Hi Sven,
What workflow benefit are you aiming to achieve beyond just using standard CR? I reviewed the original post and couldn't understand why entering all the BIB numbers into a field and then employing a more complex CR to extract the data was more beneficial than simply using BIB numbers to activate CR.
I want to gain a better understanding of your workflow objectives.

as simple as having multiple athletes shown in the image.
I enter all the bibs shown into an unused IPTC field and apply a generic IPTC-Template that does the magic. Thinking of soccer, running, cycling, etc
result: A A, B B,C C during blabla
