Which version and build of Photo Mechanic Plus are you using?

The build at this page does not have that problem on macOS Tahoe: https://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=16865.0

Photo Mechanic 6 (Plus) is no longer being maintained and unless Apple fixes that problem in macOS Tahoe then it will continue to be a problem.  We reported the issue to Apple yesterday.

Just now updated to Tahoe. Same issue. File pane is fine. Catalog pane is tiny and not usable. Therefore, I can not access my collections.

Photomechanic Plus version 2025.6, build 8068

That version does correct the issue. Not an optimal solution for me, because the file panel text is smaller, but I'll live with it.

Thanks for pointing out the link. Hope the next version addresses font size.

Can you post a screenshot of what you mean in regards to the font size? I loaded up Tahoe and ran build 8622 and I'm not noticing any difference, though I only have one computer to test on so I can't compare two versions of Mac operating systems side-by-side.

Was hoping to get actual screen size, but it came out huge so I made it smaller. It's still larger than it should be, but hopefully it shows my issue.

I never browse using the catalog browser because the print is too small for me to resolve comfortably, even when wearing glasses. The file browser is a little better, but it too now has a smaller font than what I'm comfortable with. The font size used to be about the size of what's up in the search bar, "Search my Mac", or the size of the numbers in the catalog folder image counts.

That's the reason I stayed on my previous version. There's no way to adjust font size in these areas on the Mac. That's why I was hoping there'd be some font sizing option in the newer versions of PM.

Peter,

My Photo Mechanic Plus Version: Version 6.0, build 7285 (fb3e520)

We've reported the issue to Apple and hopefully they'll fix it.  Photo Mechanic 6 (and the Plus version of Photo Mechanic 6) received its last update on June 11, 2025:

https://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=16841.0

This build of Photo Mechanic 2025 does not have the problem on macOS Tahoe:

https://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=16865.0

If you don't want to upgrade to the 2025 edition of Photo Mechanic you don't have to, but solutions will be limited to downgrading your macOS to an older version, or waiting for a fix from Apple.

Just to clarify, is this a general statement about the font sizes in the various areas of the Photo Mechanic interface or has something changed with MacOS Tahoe? If the screenshot you shared is meant to show a difference between the Navigator and Organizer, we're not really able to discern a difference.

I noted in my post that I was not able to upload an image at "normal" size, therefore it is difficult to see the difference in font sizes. There is a difference, albeit a slight one, but significant enough to make the difference between the product being usable and difficult to use.

Also, as noted in a prior post, this is not a Tahoe issue. It is a CB/Apple issue. I stated that I had not upgraded from my version of PM because the newer version affected the size of the font, again, slightly smaller, but significant in terms of usability. My reply was to be helpful when questioned about my statement. Obviously, my image upload was anything but.

Regardless, it's not an issue worth pursing. All I'm saying is that it would be nice if we had some control over font size -- changing it in MacOS does absolutely nothing unless it's related to the top bar menu.

Not to argue, but if CameraBits doesn't care anymore about Photo Mechanic 6 why should care Apple?  :)

None of the above resolve the issue.

You have given us a link to an old version of Photo Mechanic, but not to a working version of Photo Mechanic Plus.

I paid good money for my version of Plus, and I want it to work, please.

At the very least, if you're not supporting the version that I paid for, you should give me a big discount on the new version. As a software developer, I find it quite outrageous that you're blaming Apple and leaving your loyal customers to figure it out for themselves.

Support for Photo Mechanic Plus (6) ended with its last release in June of this year, more than a year longer than we promised updates.  Apple released a new OS after that time which causes some UI elements (the Catalog features) to render too small on high DPI displays.  The issue has been reported to Apple.  They may fix it.  The issue has been fixed in Photo Mechanic 2025 (with a Plus license).  The fix required significant effort and is not something we can fix in Photo Mechanic Plus (6) without even more effort and use of limited resources.

At the very least, if you're not supporting the version that I paid for, you should give me a big discount on the new version.

The last build of Photo Mechanic Plus (6) should offer you a significant discount.  Go to the Help menu and choose the "See Upgrade Options..." and a web page should offer you a discount coupon tied for your license.

Is there an earlier build of Photo Mechanic Plus, that doesn't have this issue, that I could download?

The issue is not due to a change in Photo Mechanic Plus.  Earlier builds have the same issue on macOS Tahoe.  It is an issue in macOS Tahoe that affects Photo Mechanic Plus (6) negatively.
