missing jpg previews
« on: October 05, 2025, 08:11:55 AM »
Hi, This is probably an easy one but I have a few photos out of like 30k, that do not have a jpg preview to them. Same if I am in catalog or I preview just the folder.
In PS I made a small adjustment, imported the same jpg backing PM and it still does not have a preview to it, black rectangle only.

Max OSX Sequoia 15.6.1, Photo Mechanic Plus version 2025.6, build 8622

Please post one of the images here or arrange for some other method to share it with me.  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your file.

Thanks,

-Kirk

The shared image has a very large yet incomplete ICC profile in it.  It appears to come from 'POne' (Phase One?). It is in the RGB color space, yet its PCS (Profile Connection Space) claims that it is LAB (CIE*Lab).  It has tables to convert to the PCS from the device color space, but it doesn't have tables to convert from PCS (LAB) back to device color space like most profiles that do this sort of conversion.

How was it produced?

I expect that if you assign a different profile (Adobe RGB for instance) to the image in Photoshop, it will render correctly in PM.

Hi Kirk,
Most of the photos were from a Leica SL camera, but not sure how the color space was messed up but appreciate you looking into this. I can change the color space of the remaining photos in PS but since there are a lot of Leica photos to deal with, is there a way to batch change this value ?

Thx

Mike
