"Open Recent" menu option only displays "clear menu"
« on: October 14, 2025, 02:37:23 PM »
Hi,

I recently purchased a new Macbook Pro M4, and running OS version Tahoe 26.0.1, and PM version 2025.10, build 8835 (6bd6f5a)

When I go to the File/Open Recent menu, all I see is "Clear Menu" option displayed, and none of my recently opened folders. I use this function frequently and am wondering why it's not available?

I also run the same version of PM on my 2021 iMac with the same Tahoe version, and when going to File/Open Recent, all of my recently opened folders are there.

Any ideas what's going on?

If you open new folders, does that sub-menu begin to remember the folders you just opened?

Hey Kirk,

No. Regardless of how many folders I open manually, either by dragging and dropping onto PM, or using the File/Open Contact Sheet menu, after closing those folders, it still only displays "Clear Menu" when trying File/Open Recent

I have also gone through and compared every single 'page' in the File/Preferences on both the MacBook Pro and my iMac, and everything is setup exactly the same on both machines. So I'm at a loss as to why I'm only getting the "Clear Menu" option

Do your other applications show recent items? Have you ensured that your operating system is set to show Recent Items? See 'Change the number of items listed in the Apple menu' on the following page: https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/open-recently-used-items-on-mac-mchlp2724/mac
