culling improvements
« on: October 29, 2025, 10:34:54 PM »
My main reason for choosing PM over competitors was the culling, now Lightroom has added assisted culling and I wonder if PM has any thoughts of going in that direction also?

LR culling is kinda useless, however I would love to have something similar to Narrative

Why do you find it useless? Maybe is not a fix-it-all for all types of photography, but for events I think that will be a very big plus. And it is in 'early access' so we must think that more options/better results will come in future versions.

Well... mainly because it tries doing one thing I specifically didn't want to do in LR — culling. It's like video editing in Photoshop.

They are not forcing you to do it :) Especially if you got another routine to do it. But offering it in the same package, it creates more value for the program/subscription. I didn't get the video things in Lr also, but until i find out that for simple things (like bumping the exposure a little bit for a few short videos that i took with my phone or put a slight color grading) it's easier than open a dedicated app.

Coming to initial request....I don't think it's coming. You can compare the change log for PM for the last 10 builds and compare with just the latest of Lr.
