my missing images policy

I'm not sure how everyone else deals with images that show up missing in a sync, but here's my policy, which is heavy on caution: https://usefulstuffmouzon.tumblr.com/post/801288413504552960/missing-images-in-photo-mechanic

Just to clarify, it sounds like you're renaming the images outside of Photo Mechanic. If you rename them with Photo Mechanic (In this case: "NOLA-{filenamebase}"), the images won't go missing.

Similarly, if you use Photo Mechanic to move your images to those subfolders, its going to update their locations in the catalog.

You're right; I use A Better Finder Rename 12 to rename images because it's so fast to rename large batches of files. What's the process for renaming files within PM? As for moving images to new subfolders, I do that within PM most of the time but haven't looked for differences in performance, but will look from now on.
