I believe in the past I was told this was not possible. However, I noticed this information is now available in Capture One (see screen shot). Is there a variable to show this information (that I am missing) in the Info panel? If not, is there a reason it can't be added?

Thank you,
Ric Cohn

Ric,

Put:

File type: {type}

in your Info Text to see the file type.

Thank you as always Kirk for your help and quick reply. However, if I am doing it correctly this is only showing the file extension (.cr3 or .dng, etc), not whether it was shot with Canon RAW or CRAW.

File type: {type} does not appear in my list of Variables. I typed it in manually and then restarted Photo Mechanic to have it appear.

Any chance of showing this information? The file type is basically worthless to me since it appears at the end of every file name. Whether the image was captured with RAW or CRAW is of importance to me in analyzing when CRAW is enough and when shooting in full RAW would give a potentially better end result.

Thanks again,
Ric
