I requested this feature three years ago in the Support Forum, and I’d like to bring it up again.
If scanning all metadata takes too long, please add a selection option in “Scan to Catalog” or in the general “Settings,” allowing users to choose which IPTC / metadata fields should be scanned.
At the very least, the legacy IPTC fields — such as Event or Headline — should appear in the Browse menu.
Please consider implementing this feature. It’s essential for proper digital asset management and makes it much easier to group photos or jobs. With this in place, I wouldn’t need to recreate a folder and subfolder structure inside Collections.
