Combining captioned jpegs with RAW files
« on: Yesterday at 05:32:44 PM »
Not sure if this is currently possible in Photo Mechanic or, if so, how to do it. I'd like to be able to transmit lo-res jpeg images back to my office for captioning then, when I get back to the office from an event, ingest the RAW images of the same files and have them combine so the RAWs are automatically captioned with the captions from the pre-captioned lo-res jpegs.

Hi, as long as the JPG and RAW files have the same name, you can combine them in the same contact sheet in PM and then use the 'update IPTC/XMP' command, which is under the tools, to copy metadata from JPG to RAW.
