More Custom Keyboard Shortcuts for Snapshots (Metadata / GPS)
« on: February 01, 2026, 01:30:31 PM »
Currently, you can only apply the loaded Metadata (IPTC) Template via Command + Shift + I.

It would be great to remove the rather unnecessary keyboard shortcuts for Help, since this is easily accessible via the menu bar anyway 🙂

That shortcut space could be much better used for custom user-defined keyboard shortcuts.
Personally, I often need quick access to actions like Snapshots: Metadata (IPTC) Templates, or GPS locations.
At the moment, it’s quite cumbersome to always open the menu, load a snapshot, and then apply it.

Maybe add a user section on the left in the menu.

P.S: Please add a search for (keys / words) in the Kyeboard shortcuts Settings. It's hard to find anything. Or structure them like in Capture One.

This is how it looks like in Capture One. It would be cool it the one in Photo Mechanic is also better structured and searchable.

They are trying to see if there is a solution to it! Dont know if it is technically possible. Maybe with a refresh of the whole programme it could be done.
