Emailing Images via Mac Mail
« on: Today at 12:26:32 PM »
We have two identical systems in our office: Mac Studios with Apple M2 Ultra chips running Tahoe 26.2. We are using Photo Mechanic 2025.10, build 8858. Mac Mail is version 16.0

The "Send Photos via email..." dialog works fine on one system, but fails on the other. Weirdly it used to work without issue, and I'm unsure of what changed that might have started the issue. The error message is "There was an error while creating the email via AppleScript. Please make sure your email application is configured properly. The Console.log has details of the error."

When clicking the confirmation in the PM dialog, Mail is brought to the front, but no new message dialog is opened. Mail is configured properly and works as expected otherwise. I have dug through the Console, but all I was able to find is in the attached screenshot. Through further digging it appears impossible to reveal the <private> data.

Any help or suggestions? The issue is driving me crazy.

In MacOS System Settings, go to the Privacy and Security Settings and choose "Automation". Photo Mechanic should appear in the list of Applications. Toggle the control for Photo Mechanic in this list, and this should enable the email function in Photo Mechanic to create emails for you again. Let me know if that works.

Had a feeling it was going to be something simple. Thank you very much!
