When I have several directories filtered in the Catelog filter view, if I cmd+tab to another app and then come back (cmd+tab again) my color class and rating filter is no longer applied, and all of the photos selected by directory in the catalog filter are show. It doesn't happen 100% of the time, but maybe about 20%.

Just to clarify, you are using the Catalog Filter tab on the left hand side, holding Command and selecting several folder names, and then you are turning some of the Contact Sheet filters in the top right on and off to hide some of the images that would fall under the Catalog Filter? What is the initial state of the Contact Sheet filters when you open any new Contact Sheet (which color labels and star ratings filters are off)?

That’s correct. Selecting multiple folders in the catalog filter by command+click and then using the contact sheet filters to hide no-color and yellow, as well as zero-star images.

When I open a new contact sheet the default contact sheet filtering is to hide images with no color class.

I'm unable to reproduce this behavior, so I'm not sure what is causing it. One thing that Photo Mechanic does by default is to rescan open Contact Sheets for any possible new results. In my experience it doesn't change which filters are active but I suppose it could be the cause of what is going on here. Go to the Photo Mechanic menu and choose Settings, then go to the Contact Sheet section and uncheck 'Rescan on Resume'. Does that make this stop happening?
