Evaluation (or not) of code replacements inserted through 'find and replace'

I had an incorrect code replacement in multiple captions, e.g., =xyx=, which should have been =xxx=. To correct this, I used 'find and replace' to replace =xyx= with =xxx=. But then the replaced codes only get evaluated if I open the photo/metadata. Is that the intended behaviour or is there a way to have CRs evaluated after a find and replace without having to visit each and every photo in which the replacement took place (which would be really nice)?

I do not recall when this was added, but it is a feature in current builds of Photo Mechanic

Thanks for the prompt support. My mistake to have overlooked this (it is already in the old PM 6 build) :-)
