Ingest Issue (lost photos)
« on: Yesterday at 09:29:57 AM »
I photographed an MLS match on Saturday and had two camera bodies. One was a rental (Sony A9). The card in that camera (480g CF Express Type A) showed around 25,000 images when it said it was full. I started an ingest from the media room. Since they were RAW files, it was running all the images through a DNG convertor and taking forever. I was running out of time so I canceled the ingest, turned off the converter, and started again and selected "incremental ingest" assuming that would ingest anything that hadn't been ingested yet. It was still running slow because it was 25,000 photos and the media room was closing so I canceled it again. When I got home I started it again. Since my MacBook Pro only has two USB-C and I had the cardreader and and SSD connector so it was not connected to power. When I woke up, the MacBook had died. I charged it then just manually moved the photos from the card to the SSD. When I imported everything into Lightroom I only had 18,000 so I am missing a significant number of photos!
