Previews Not Rendered

Going back on my image inventory, I am coming across images that are not rendering previews. Also when viewed in the contact sheet the file names are red? They are Nikon D1h nef files.
I am on a MAC 10.4.9 . Any ideas?

If the images never show up and always show red titles, then this indicates that PM is unable to parse those individual files which may mean that they are damaged in some way.
