Good Morning,

its been a while because everything was running perfect.
If one tool is absolutely necessary for my workflow its PM

The great german file transfer tool PicDrop changed their FTP Settings.
Not definitely sure but I Think ftp to sftp.

In the PM Uploader FTP V6 I saw the PicDrop directory and could upload direct in the folders.
Such a great benefit to be quick. Green flag file uploaded.

After the necessary change to sftp this functionally is gone. If I click list directory a spinning beachball shows up.

In CyberDuck I see the directory an the folder of my Picdrop account.

What could be the problem and what could be a solution ??? For years I used Photoshelter and they had a special uploader that shows all folders.

I am on Photo Mechanic Plus Version 6.0, build 7285 (fb3e520) not a subscription and I don't get any updates more.
Are the new versions showing the PicDrop directory ?

Best and thanks for your support

Dirk

There haven't been any changes to the SFTP interface in the new version of Photo Mechanic, however we could likely add this in a future build. I'll add it to the list and discuss with the team and update this thread once the feature is added.

Good morning ahoward, that would be great !!! Right now PicDrop is giving the information to use FTP V6 for the login - but there the directory is not working. What you mean is adding the functionality ti the SFTP Login ? Right ? Best Dirk

Yes, that would be the goal.

For what it's worth, you can use the "Destination path" field to upload create an entire folder structure on the destination server. So you could enter "FolderA/2026_06_03 to create a "FolderA" folder and then a "2026_06_03" folder inside of that (or you could even use variable to dynamically create folder names). Might not simple as having the column browser to select the destination folder, but might get the job done for you for now.

Hi DMDeckbar,

We added the column browser to the SFTP uploader template. We don't have a new official build ready yet, but if you'd like to try out the feature, you can test out in the build a the following link: https://www.camerabits.com/download/PhotoMechanicR9894_b45f161d.dmg

It is a time limited beta build, and will expire on September 12th. Please let me know if you experience any issues at all while testing this build.

Begin a trial for the new version of Photo Mechanic and you can test out the build that I posted above. If you do wish to upgrade after that, email support@camerabits.com and they can give you your options.

Dear ahoward,

First try looks perfect ! Will have a job the next days to try it more.
So I will upgrade to the new version.
But the beta with the function ist running out at the 12th.
Will there be a new version with the new function included ?
Or could you make the beta running longer ?

Best Dirk

I think we'll be putting out a new beta. This next release is based on a newer version of the MacOS SDK (you may have noticed some changes to various UI elements around the application), so while we think we've ironed out most of the issues surrounding that, it would be good to put it in the hands of any users that are willing to test it before we put it up to public release.

Dear ahoward, I found some problems !
First it is asking multiple times Remember Host pic drop permantley ... then I got during the upload an error fingerprint ...
and the files where not uploaded.
Do you need a log file ... just made some screenshots

But you were previously able to upload successfully?

And do you not have these issues with Photo Mechanic 6 when using SFTP with PicDrop? I don't believe anything should have changed with regards to remembering the host.
