Hello Everyone,

We are pleased to announce an update to the Photo Mechanic All-in-One application for macOS (Universal-Binary) and Windows.  This new build addresses issues present in the 9034 build.

On macOS, this build of Photo Mechanic requires macOS Ventura or higher.  If you are using a Mac with macOS Monterey or older, you will need to upgrade to macOS Ventura or higher to use Photo Mechanic.  This version of Photo Mechanic is written for both Intel-based and Apple Silicon-based Mac computers.

On Windows, this build of Photo Mechanic requires Windows 10 or higher.  If you are using a Windows PC with Windows 8.1 or older, you will need to upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11.

This release is for current Monthly and Annual subscribers to Photo Mechanic or Photo Mechanic Plus, as well as those who purchased a perpetual license for either of those within the last twelve months.

  ● Added: Custom keyboard shortcuts for Upload templates and their specific snapshots.
  ● Added: Preference to not show the upload progress dialog when starting an upload. It can be accessed by double clicking the associated task in the Tasks pane located in the Contact Sheet and Preview windows.

  ● Added: Read-only support for AVIF image files.

  ● Fixed: Issue with extensions handling for file paths that parent directories contained one or more periods (.) and the filename part had no extension.
  ● Fixed: Soft crop is lost when performing 'Save as' on images with a soft rotation.
  ● Fixed: Soft crop not being preserved when saving as WebP and crop isn't applied.
  ● Fixed: Incorrect filenames written to upload log when files were renamed upon upload.
  ● Fixed: Incorrect date and time metadata added during FTP upload of files Saved As JPEG in transmit settings.
  ● Fixed: Fixed: IPTC Date field in Metadata Info window displays capture date instead of IPTC Date.
  ● Fixed: Removing a code replacement file removes that file and all files listed after it.
  ● Fixed: For RAF+HIF pair, updating metadata deletes existing XMP after embedding metadata in HIF.
  ● Fixed: PNG resolution always reads as 72ppi.

macOS:
  ● Added: Improved user experience for choosing external editing applications.
  ● Fixed: "GPS Map Browser" window does not get focus after reopening.
  ● Fixed: Some text fields glitch when switching from another application.

Windows:
  ● No Windows-specific updates.
