PM+ perpetual license options
« on: July 14, 2026, 01:27:23 PM »
Are there any options for the holders of a perpetual license other than going subscription after the one year of support ends? Is this an "end of life" license? Needless to say, if we opted for a perpetual license after the app went subscription, it is evident that we (or at least I) have no use for the "subscription" model, but am willing to pay something.

Hi 30west,

As far as Photo Mechanic Plus, your options will be limited. Your perpetual license for Photo Mechanic Plus will continue to work as long as you maintain your current OS. It also receives development updates for one year after your purchase.  Camera Bits no longer offers Photo Mechanic Plus as a new perpetual license OR as a new subscription.  If you want to upgrade your OS every time a new OS comes out, there will be a time when the final version of Photo Mechanic Plus will not be compatible with the latest OS.   We do not foresee any options to purchase new versions of Photo Mechanic Plus either via subscription or via perpetual license. We acknowledge this is not ideal.

Curent OS as in MacOS 26? Or it will work also in 27, IF APPLE doesn't change something on their files?

Mick, I am fairly confused by your response. I am using the Apple Silicon version 2026.2...in other words the version that was sold AFTER PM+ initially came out as only a subscription. Your response says that even the subscription will no longer be sold. What am I missing? Is PM Plus not longer available in any form?

thanks
