IPTC CODING (WRITE TO UNICODE)
« on: July 20, 2007, 08:18:55 AM »
Click on the information button on a photo - the menu is displayed.

Bottom right hand corner - there is the option IPTC CODING (WRITE TO UNICODE).

When I click "write to unicode", click "ok". The box is no longer checked when I return to information for this photo.  Anybody got any ideas?

Also, I would like to tick this box for all of my photos but can't see a way to do this globally with one click.

Many thanks!

It is happening because of a bug in the current release version.  It will be fixed in the upcoming 4.5.2 version.

There is a similar checkbox in the IPTC/XMP tab of the Preferences dialog that should also be set if you want Unicode as your default output encoding.  Once the 4.5.2 version is released, the preference will be set properly in the IPTC Info dialog by default.

Many thanks Kirk.  What is the ETA for the release of 4.5.2?

I don't have an exact date for you.  It will be released when it is as solid a release as possible.

Did you fix this in the current beta already? (can't find it in the beta 4 release notes though)

Thanks,
