Photo Mechanic IPTC fields and Alamy
« on: August 15, 2007, 12:51:34 PM »
Can anyone tell me how Photo Mechanic's IPTC headings correspond to Alamy's? This much I have figured out:

Keywords in Photo Mechanic  =  Keywords at Alamy

Caption in Photo Mechanic  =  Caption at Alamy

However, Object Name in Photo Mechanic (also called Document Title in Photoshop) doesn't seem to get transferred to any of Alamy's IPTC fields.

Also, there's a field at Alamy, called Description, which always turns up empty -- i.e., neither Photo Mechanic's Caption or Object Name field transfer to it. Could it possibly correspond to Photo Mechanic's Headline field?

Thanks,
Robert

I suggest taking an image and filling in each and every IPTC field with the name of the field as its contents.  Then import it into Alamy and see what shows up and what it's called.

Robert-

I did what Kird suggests and think you will find it pretty straightforward. If not, post back which fields are problems and I will try to sort it out for you. The only ones I have never figured out for PM is the custom fields ... Adult release, property release and RF or licensed, so I add those fields later in iView before burning cd or uploading.

cheers,

Hi,

The Alamy  caption and keywords are the same in Photomechanics.
Alamy takes only data from these two fields.
