automating "object name" field
« on: August 22, 2007, 02:55:24 PM »
Getty tells me there's a way to automate the "object name" field.  I've been manually entering each file name. Is there an easier way? Thanks for your help.

If you want to have the field equal to the filename, simply set the field to {filenamebase} or (if you want the filename extension) to {filename}.  If you want to apply this setting to multiple files, use the IPTC stationary pad, set the field to the mentioned value, and apply the stationary pad to the selected files.

This should do the trick!

Note: There are many many more "variables" like this that can help you accomplish all sorts of neat things  :)

Scott,

Thanks, Hayo, I'll give it a try.

In case it is not obvious, you also need to set the 'Apply' checkbox to the left of each field that you want the IPTC Stationery Pad to apply to your images.
